Demo of Windows 10 Technical Preview Running on Nokia Lumia 520
XDA-Developers have managed to install the Technical Preview of Windows 10 on a smartphone that is not among the first supported models for the Preview version. The community has published a tutorial with instructions on how to install Windows 10 on any of the current smartphones including the low-end Lumia 520, but this is highly risky as you may brick the phone forever. Nokia Lumia 520 is the most popular Windows Phone to date with a market share around 30%. Microsoft has already announced that Windows 10 will support most of the current models and this video raises hopes that Lumia 520 will be included in the list very soon.
Only a subset of phones supports the first Technical Preview (Lumia 630, Lumia 635, Lumia 730, Lumia 830) but more models will be added in the upcoming builds. Microsoft is still working on a new feature called “partition stitching” which will allow smartphones with more than 16 Gigs of storage to install Windows 10.
